The vision of Spiritual Democracy and the vision of the 13 Moon Walk for Peace are in complete alignment through our shared commitment to building peace both in America and thoughout the world. The vision and goal of the walk is to awaken the “heart” of America, bringing visibility to the invisible and voice to the voiceless to affect healing and transformation in the way we relate to each other and Mother Earth. The vision of Spiritual Democracy is a world where “spiritual consciousness is the highest form of politics” and where men and women work together in equal partnership for the next seven generations while holding all life as sacred.

The Center for Spiritual Democracy and the Spirit of Truth Foundation will also be participating in a year-long university study on the impact and effectiveness of both the walk and the introduction of Spiritual Democracy circles into diverse communities across our nation. This research will then be utilized to continue to develop and refine the model for Spiritual Democracy as a valuable system of governance while also tangibly demonstrating the power of the 13 Moon Walk for Peace and it’s guiding values to inspire action on the local level and begin the building of real peace across the nation.

The 13 Moon Walk for Peace is a people’s walk and is scheduled in alignment with the lunar calendar, which is, according to ancient tradition, the calendar of cooperation. It also aligns with the sacred feminine, which is important to the walkers as their goal is to touch the “heart” of America, to affect healing and transformation in the way we relate to each other and Mother Earth. This will open the way for compassionate leadership at a time when our country needs it most.
